Treva: Managing construction projects

Treva gives construction teams a place to track project progress, assign tasks, and manage documents. QikBuild worked on the project dashboard, task management, document management and collaboration features.

One project, several kinds of work

A construction project needs both a view of the whole job and a clear next action for each person. A dashboard answers the first question. Assigned tasks connect that overview to the people doing the work. Documents provide the material those people need to act on.

These are related responsibilities. A task list by itself does not explain project progress, and a dashboard without assigned work does not tell a team what to do next. Treva brings those parts into the same platform.

What QikBuild delivered

Project progress dashboard. A shared view of how a project is progressing, giving the team a starting point when reviewing the job.

Task management and assignment. Work can be recorded and assigned to the people responsible for carrying it forward.

Document management. Project documents are managed within the platform alongside the work they support.

Team collaboration. Collaboration features connect the people working on the project with its tasks and documents.

The project brings these four capabilities into one operational tool. Teams can work with project progress, assigned tasks and supporting documents in the same platform.

What another construction team can learn from this scope

When deciding on a first version, choose a project that is already underway. Use it to check whether people can find their work, see project progress and access the necessary documents. The useful question is whether they can complete that routine in the system.

Additional areas, such as accounting integrations, purchasing or warehouse operations, should have their own agreed scope. A project-management platform does not need to replace every system before it becomes useful.

We use this approach when planning internal tools and workflow systems and software for construction teams: choose a complete working process, then extend it based on actual use.
